This one-day intensive workshop aims to extend participants’ skills and knowledge of search engine marketing and search engine optimisation (SEO). It will introduce participants to paid search and aims to build skills in managing and assessing a paid search program.  This workshop also covers a step-by-step method for optimising a website for searching, including identifying keywords, writing for search and design considerations. It will introduce participants to the top tools for SEO.

Learning outcomes include gaining an understanding of the key terminology in search engine optimisation and keyword/search advertising; gaining knowledge of the tools available for search engine marketing and search engine optimisation; and gaining an understanding of the elements of search engine optimisation and keyword advertising.

The workshop will use a variety of content from facilitator presentation, small group activities and discussion, activities with online tools, video and text-based materials.  Information presented includes case studies, current research, and practical hands-on tips. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other with discussion of experiences encouraged by the facilitator. Participants receive a comprehensive set of notes and resources for further study. Please bring your laptop computer or tablet to this workshop.

This workshop qualifies for eight hours of professional development under the Professional Maintenance Program of the AMI's Certified Practising Marketer Program.
