Hobart City Council’s City Marketing Unit is responsible for managing a range of city marketing activities and programs that enhance Hobart’s image as a vibrant place to live and visit and which contribute to the social, community, cultural and economic development of the city.

Reporting to the City Marketing Manager, the Brand and Digital Marketing Advisor will provide expert and strategic advice and high-level project management in support of Hobart City Council marketing strategy.

The successful candidate will be expected to have completed an appropriate tertiary degree course in marketing or business together with several years’ experience in marketing, with a particular focus on the digital marketing environment. In addition, demonstrated brand strategy experience is required.

We are creating a professional services unit to deliver distributed marketing services to all faculties of the university.   • Work closely with the Business Development and Marketing Manager to develop, produce and project manage a range of communication strategies and products for the firm.
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing team to format and produce various marketing materials.
  • Distribute and coordinate all external and internal email campaigns.
  • Provide support with event coordination.
  • Maintain and develop the internal communications within the firm through newsletters and other channels.
  • Ensure the Client Relationship Management database is maintained and developed.

Your experience

To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline.
  • One to two years of experience in marketing and/or communications within a professional services firm (e.g. accounting, legal, engineering, consulting firm).
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and previous experience with Adobe InDesign will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong capability to prioritise.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Solid relationship-building skills.
